Winner of the Young Chef Competition held at The Harefield Academy - Elizabeth Vila Creus
THA Year 9 student, Elizabeth Vila Creus won the Rotary Young Chef Competition held here last week at The Academy. The students in the competition, all from Hillingdon schools and between the ages of 14-17, had to prepare a two course meal for under £10, a starter and main or a main and a dessert. It had to be nutritionally balanced and not repeating the main ingredient or cooking process. The time limit was 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Elizabeth only dropped three marks in the competition scoring a staggering 47 out of 50! Head of Food Technology at The Academy, Kurtt Martin said, "Elizabeth showed amazing composure to complete her cooking in a timely fasion. It amazed me that someone so young could perform to such a high standard. I am sure that such a positive mentality will hold her in great stead for the future."
Elizabeth will now be entered into the District Finals of the competition.
