The following students attended The Hillingdon Secondary Book of the Year 2015 finale event at the Civic Centre on Thursday 14th May .

This event, now in its thirteenth year, aims to promote reading for pleasure and to encourage students to take part in reading new books .

This year, students had to read six books from the shortlist.

The day’s event started with each of the 12 schools presenting a five minute presentation on their winning book. Students from The Harefield Academy did a role play on their winning vote Knightley & Son by Rohan Gavin. This was followed by the guest speaker, Sam Enthoven, author of fantastical thrillers.

The finale was the Mayor of Hillingdon announcing the winning Book of the Year. This was A Boy Called Hope by Lara Williamson.
