What a week!
What a week! Redgrave House visited the great British seaside, a haven of memories of the Victorian past and a taste of the future too! Brighton welcomed us for the day and the students thoroughly enjoyed walking around the Lanes, visiting the pier and amusements and, of course, sitting on the beach and eating our picnic lunches! We had a fantastic day! The traffic was very clear and the weather was just stunning. Our students enjoyed a fantastic journey there and the views of the Downs on the way were very inspiring for all of us. Even though the sea was very cold, we still managed to dip our toes into the water, which was great fun. Seagulls were busily eyeing up our ice creams and sandwiches, however we still managed to have a fabulous picnic on the beach and everyone remarked on the stunning views of the sea…watching the brave swimmers in the cold sea was amazing as we relaxed in the warm sunshine and took in the exquisite views.
Tuesday was a day of British sports rounded up with a viewing of a classic British film, Bend it Like Beckham.
Wednesday saw us taking the tube into London for a fun day at the Natural History Museum; and we were amazed by the exhibitions and information on offer in the variety of rooms. All in all, it was an inspirational and fun visit and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being on the Tube.
Thursday's activities in London sadly had to be cancelled due to the Tube strike, however, we enjoyed a day of rounders, cricket, basketball and table tennis.
Friday was another fabulous day of wall to wall sunshine and we thoroughly enjoyed being outside to enjoy a good old fashioned sports day consisting of many fun activities such as three legged race, the egg and spoon race and sack race! It was a wonderful time for bonding and working together as a team and we even managed to win the overall best House team!
