“What a fantastic evening…” was echoed around The Harefield Academy following the wonderful Upper School Celebration Evening on Thursday 27 November. Vice Principal, Fiona O’Sullivan, who led on the organisation of evening said that it was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our students’ achievements, staff and students alike were inspired by the success that was celebrated. 
Guest of Honour and Olympian, Dave Long, said that as an Olympian it was so refreshing to see the ethos of excellence, hard work and sheer enjoyment being celebrated at The Harefield Academy. “The cohesive teamwork of students, teachers, administrators, parents and backers was plain to see and deserves to be applauded." 
The Watford Football Club Award for Contribution to Football was presented by Watford FC Sporting Director, Luke Dowling, and with Head of Academy, Chris McGuane in the audience, boarder Carl Weser, stepped up to receive the Award. Twenty special Awards were presented by our supporters which included The Merchant Taylors’ School Award for A Level Studies (Head Girl Nikita Sodha), The Brunel University Award for University Potential (Andrew Noel) and The Principal’s Award for Services to The Academy and the Community which was presented to our Head Boy, Jack Ramsay. The entertainment was second-to-none with the delightful Harefield Academy choir opening the Celebration Evening and a display from Harefield Gymnastics closing the event with such panache.

Principal, Mark Poulter, said: Congratulations to all the Award winners and a big thank you to all members of staff, Governors, sponsors and parents for the tremendous work they have done over the last few years to get the students to this level. An outstanding evening for all involved.
