Huge Success for Lauren at the Middlesex County Championships
Lauren O’Connor (Year 8) is now reaping the rewards of her hard winter training! Competing in the Middlesex County Championships just before Easter, she gained her first National Qualifying time in the 100m Butterfly with a time of 1.06.27. The national qualifying time is actually 1.07.39, so Lauren managed to go under this time by over a second! She is now ranked 2nd in Great Britain for her 100m Butterfly, a fantastic achievement!
Not content with success in one stroke, Lauren also competed in the 200m Butterfly and only just missed the national qualifying time by 0.15secs!
Lauren also swam in the 200m and 400m Individual Medleys, 100m and 200m Breaststroke.
Her efforts over the two weekends of the competition resulted in 6 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal.
At this rate, Lauren will need to invest in another trophy cabinet before this year is out!
We wish her continued success. Well done Lauren. We are all looking forward to your future!
