Introducing: Taekwondo Star Alex Deas

We get some talented sportsmen and women on the Gifted and Talented register at The Harefield Academy, but there are some outstanding sports people who dedicate time and energy to their chosen sport without being on the register.

Alex with his medals and most recent belt

Alex Deas, who has just joined the Academy in Year 7, is one of them. Alex trains twice a week in Taekwondo at Harefield ITF. At only 11 years old he is already preparing to take his grading for his adult black belt at the end of September.

Over the last six years Alex has travelled up and down the United Kingdom for gradings and competitions.  He is now looking forward to the British Championships in Reading later this year.

“I am really proud what I achieve in Taekwondo, and I enjoy everything about it.” He added, “I want to get better and better and really challenge myself.”
