Academy students impress Lord Hill

The Academy was visited by Lord Hill of Oareford CBE, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Schools, in October.

Lord Hill was given a tour of the site and met with a variety of students from across The Academy, before moving to the LRC for a presentation from student leadership teams and a song from The Academy choral group.

He said: “I thought the Head Boy was just being polite in front of the Principal when he said he thought this was the best school in the country; but after spending some time here, I see he wasn’t - it’s true.”

He commented: "Hearing the choir sing was a highlight of the trip and I thought I was good at table tennis, until I saw these guys play!"

Finally, we were delighted when Lord Hill concluded by saying: "The impression I get from The Harefield Academy is that everyone works together, and leadership is important to all of you."
