Lewis are Sports Day Champions 2011
Sports Day is one of the most anticipated dates in The Harefield Academy calender and this year was no exception. The whole Academy made their way to the athletics stadium in Uxbridge, on what has now also become annually, a very sunny day!
After tough competition and dogged determination from all students, Lewis House were crowned Sports Day champions in the closest sports day results in history. The House also won the Year 10 trophey and were runners up in the Year 9 competition.
Mr Littlewood, Head of Physical Education, said:
‘Sports day this year was better than ever. Students and staff had a fantastic day and the weather was brilliant sunshine. For the first time ever we had a different house win each year group making it one of our closest sports day yet. Congratulations to Lewis house for winning and thank you to all staff for their help and the students for all their effort.’
The annual lunchtime tug-of-war is historically the most competitive event of the whole day and it was Pele who pulled their way to become the 2011 champions.
