The Key Stage Three Mock Trial Competition

On Saturday 10th May 13 Harefield Academy students went to Ealing Magistrates Court to take part in the Mock Trial Competition.  The students have been preparing since January for the event and all had different role from Usher, Legal Advisor, to Witness’ and defence and prosecution lawyers.  We even took along two court artists who have entered the court artist competition.

In the competition we went up against three other schools.  Unfortunately we did not win but put up a brave fight and the students really got into the argument trying to find the defendant ‘George Low’ guilty or not guilty for the charge of steeling stolen goods.

Our defence lawyer Evan Clancy was given the award for best lawyer on the day and should be really proud of this achievement.

Well done to all the students involved it was a great day, and thanks to Mr Smith, Miss Wootton and Miss Denham for all their support getting the students ready for the event.
