Year 7 Students welcome volunteers from 'The Gideons'
Two selected Year 7 groups were host to a presentation from volunteers working on behalf of the Christian charitable group, The Gideons. Students were informed of the interesting history behind this religious group and the work that they carry out today. There were many excellent questions asked and students were shocked to discover that The Gideons hand out over 1 million free copies of the Bible every 4 days! The visitors were extremely impressed with the students’ enthusiasm and thanked the Year 7’s for their interest. Each student also took away their own free copy of the New Testament, courtesy of the visitors, which will be very useful during RE lessons.
