Inspire-Aspire 2012 Project
All Year 7 and 8 students at The Harefield Academy had an exciting opportunity to embrace the Olympic and Paralympic values this term through the ‘Inspire-Aspire’ programme. Students were asked to complete a reflective booklet which outlined how they live out the Olympic and Paralympic values.
Students then had to research one inspirational athlete and explore their journey towards Olympic excellence. Over 37 000 students across the country took part in this national competition! From these thousands of entries, The Harefield Academy placed three finalists, all receiving a placing for their booklets!
Olivia Brennand, Elise Kelly and Ryan Kirwan were all invited to an awards ceremony near the Olympic park, where they received medals and certificates for their efforts from Derek Redmond and Dame Tessa Jowell. The ceremony was a huge success and I would like to say a huge congratulations to the three finalists for their fantastic work.
