Positive Start for Y7 Continues

The fantastic start the new Year 7 students have made continued as parents and carers were invited to 'The Year Seven Settling Evening' on Thursday 24th September.

The event included presentations from Assistant Principals across all departments, who all spoke about what the students will be learning during lessons and aiming for over the course of the year. The Harefield Academy’s Principal, Lynn Gadd, also spoke about The Academy’s successes and plans for the future.

Parents and students were then invited to the Cafe for food and drinks and had a chance to talk informally to APs and student managers about their child’s first weeks at The Harefield Academy. This was a fantastic opportunity for parents to gain an understanding of how the curriculum works at The Academy, and for teachers and student managers to advise parents/carers on how best to support their children in their education.

Principal, Ms. Gadd said: "We enjoyed really positive feedback from the Year 7 parents and I was particularly pleased to hear how happy the students are to be at The Academy."

She added: "Our new students have made such a positive start to their years at The Academy that I have no doubt that they will be really successful."

Everyone at The Harefield Academy is certain the encouraging start made by the year group will continue throughout the students’ time at The Academy.

Details on the specific websites, resources and tools which parents can use to help their children with their education will be posted on the subject area sections of the website over the next couple of weeks. Please keep checking back for further updates.
