Remembrance Day 2009 at The Academy
The Harefield Academy’s students and staff paid respect to all those brave men and women who have lost their lives fighting for our country this morning.
The Remembrance Day ‘themed PL’ time gave everyone a chance to reflect on events of World Wars and more recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Students watched a video containing images and videos from The Academy’s recent trip to the Battlefields, along with other moving images of war graves, Remembrance Day parades and footage from both World Wars. You can view the video in the Video Gallery section of the website here.
Following the ‘Last Post’ trumpet solo being played over the plasma screens, The Academy fell silent at 11am, along with the rest of the country, taking a moment to think about what Remembrance Day and the Poppy means to them.
