Ben Scott in action at a recent Triathlon.

Ben Scott is a Gifted and Talented sports student at THA and has a real talent for Triathlons!

Ben had to have 6 months complete rest after picking up a bacterial infection from an open water swim in September followed by glandular fever, so selection for the London regional Triathlon team was questionable but he was selected to represent them again this year.

The team takes the 6 best juniors across the 33 London boroughs so Ben was delighted to be selected as he's only 14 and racing in the new age group of 15-16 so the competition is fierce.

The race series attracts many regional athletes from all over with each club entering their best juniors.

Bens first race was in March , the Hillingdon Duathlon , he achieved a 2nd place position and in April Ben was selected to run for Hillingdon in the London mini Marathon , his 5k times was a credible 17.48 .

In May it was the Greenwich Aquathon , part of the race series, he achieved a 4th position missing out on 3rd by 1 second!

Also in May was the Hillingdon Aquathon, the distance is longer as this was an adult race , swim 750m and 5k run, Ben achieved 5th place, 2 of the winners are in the GB triathlon team so this is a huge result.

Good luck for the rest of the racing season Ben!
