Students celebrate best results ever!

Staff and students at The Harefield Academy are celebrating a very significant improvement in the 2008 GCSE results. 55% of the Year 11 students have gained 5 A* - C grades and this is a superb 17% point jump on last year showing a 45% increase in our highest results.

Lynn Gadd, Principal, said, “We expected improvements this year and we are delighted with the results. We are very pleased that so many students have achieved such good results. Staff have made significant changes to the curriculum and have worked hard with our students. This is just the beginning of improvements that will be measurably better year-on-year. Congratulations and well done to everyone!”

Particularly successful students include:

Kane Harrison — who achieved not only excellent GCSE results but also an A grade in AS level Maths

Katie Payne — 6A* and 2A

Sophie Searle - 4A*, 4A and 1B

Sajad Shanaz - 4A* and 3A

Also, Greg Deer, one of the Year 10 Junior Watford FC Scholars, achieved 5A*.
