'Building the Boarding' Diary

Follow the building of our brand new boarding house here...

September 2010

The diggers move in and start moving soil and breaking up the grass next to the MUGA where the Boarding House will be built.

October 2010

The ground is marked out and leveled off ready for the foundations of the building to be laid.

November 2010

In a very sunny November the foundations are laid and we can start to see the blueprints come to life.

December 2010

The snow stopped some building for a couple of days, but the site staff were back building as soon as they could. Everyone is excited to see the progress in the new year, when the walls start going up.

January 2011

As if by magic, January 2011 is upon us and the walls are going up at a very quick pace. The boarding house is a reality now and is getting more exciting by the week.

February 2011

The building is getting taller and taller, with the second floor now in place and on Valentines Day the first windows went in, taking the first steps to becoming water tight and nearer to a completed building.

March 2011

The opening of the Boarding House in September will bring about a dream for 50 lucky young people. The dream is to be able to make use of our fantastic educational offer round-the-clock. This is a very exciting development.

As Spring is in the air the boarding house is looking closer to a real building everyday. Students and Staff returned to The Academy on Tuesday 1st March to find windows fitted and the shape of the building really emerging.
