Why Should I Study This Subject?

Business Studies will help you develop a critical understanding of organisations, the markets they serve and the process of adding value. You will be able to study business behaviour from the perspectives of a range of stakeholders. You will become aware of the economic, environmental and ethical issues associated with business activity. 

What Will I Study?

At AS, students will study the following units:

Unit 1: Planning and Financing a Business

Unit 2: Managing a Business

At A2, students will consider strategies for larger businesses and how managers might measure the performance of the business. Finally, the A2 considers the effects that external factors can have on businesses and how a business can plan for and manage change, including leadership style and change in business culture.  The following units that will be studied at A2 are:

Unit 3: Strategies for Success

Unit 4: The Business Environment and Change

What Grades Will I Need?

8 GCSE grades A*- C. Students need at least a grade B in both English Language and Mathematics to progress onto this course.
