The Department is supported by LEA specialist teachers for Speech and Language, Visual Impairment, Hearing Impairment, ASD, The Educational Psychology Service and other appropriate agencies.

 

The SENCO is responsible for the administration, record keeping and the organisation of classroom and withdrawal support for all students with Special Educational Needs.

The Teaching Assistants work in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher. They have been allocated to a specific class by the SENCO. The Teaching Assistants are given training as appropriate and many have undertaken national qualifications.
