Life Skills

At The Harefield Academy Life Skills lessons are designed to promote life skills and to give students experience in group work, leadership, discussion skills, action planning and decision making.

The main ethos and work of the department is to encourage all students to take part in activities so they and their opinions are valued. The lessons are designed to give students up to date information about a range of current issues and topics which affect young people. They are given opportunities to express their views and to listen to others in the group.

ICT is used in this subject to help students of all ages learn how to access sources of information, extract relevant information and present their work in a clear manner.
