Sports Personality 2010

Sports Personality Awards Dinner

Wednesday 5 May 2010

7.00 p.m.

We are delighted to announce that The Harefield Academy’s First Sports Personality Awards Dinner will be held on Wednesday 5 May 2010. The event will become a biennial affair designed to celebrate the achievements of our young elite sports students and to support their future development towards national and international achievements. The evening will also pay tribute to those who give of their time and expertise to assist the students in the achievement of their goals.

The Guest of Honour at this prestigious event will be Guin Batten, who won silver at the 2000 Summer Olympics in the quadruple sculls rowing event. We are expecting an audience of approximately 250 people who will not only enjoy a three course meal but also appreciate the high level of skill and determination displayed by our elite sports students.

The event will be supported by The Academy’s lead sponsors and successful businessmen, namely David Meller, Michael Sherwood, Jonathan Green and  Haig Oundjian as well as by local companies.  It will therefore be a very high profile event .

How can you help?

At The Harefield Academy, we are keen to involve all of those with an interest in The Academy and would very much like to invite parents to support this event in one of the following ways:

Type of Support
Example
By donating towards the cost of the event

Simple Donation – £25, £50, £75, or £100
This will support the cost of staging the event.
Donation in Kind
This could be a donation of a case of wine/champagne; the supply of lighting equipment or staging; the supply of glasses, cutlery, crockery or table decoration and linen.
By donating towards the cost of a student’s sporting development

You may wish to sponsor one of the elite sports students. The cost of a student’s training, competition entry and kit is often one of the barriers to his/her development. You would receive regular updates on the student’s progress within his/her sport.
 By donating an auction prize

You may wish to donate a prize or an experience e.g. a health spa treatment, a dinner for two etc. to the value of at least £50 and which at auction will hopefully raise even more.
For parents who are in business, financial support from their company or from their business contacts who may be in a position to help.
In return for any donations outlined above, The Harefield Academy will be happy to advertise your company throughout the evening.

Please contact Mrs Cotterell at The Academy on 01895 827872 with details of your support and/or contacts who may wish to help. Your support would be much appreciated.

With the London Olympics looming, I am sure that you would wish to encourage and support the development of our young athletes’ potential at The Harefield Academy and hopefully join in their glory either in 2012 or 2016 or perhaps both!
