GCSE exam success!
GCSE Results 2019
We are delighted to congratulate our Year 11 students today on their exam successes. Their hard work has resulted in notable improvements in outcomes.
The proportion of students achieving a standard pass (grade 4) in both Maths and English has increased from 55% to 63% taking our success rate above the national average for 2018. 44% of students achieved a strong pass (grade 5) in both Maths and English, a huge increase of 13% from last year and again taking us above last year’s national average. The proportion of students achieving a pass in Maths is now well above national average as we continue to see improvements in all our core and Ebacc subjects.
A more detailed breakdown of our results can be found on our Academic Results page where a strong 3 year trend of improvement can be seen.
Some of our wonderful individual success stories include Milena Trabszo who achieved 11 strong GCSE grades with 6 grade 9s and 4 grade 8s; Joe Bray who achieved 10 strong GCSE grades, 1 grade 9, 2 grade 8s and 5 grade 7s; Lorna Jolly who achieved 10 strong GCSE passes including 3 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s, 2 grade 7s; Megan Davis who achieved 10 strong GCSE passes including 1 grade 9, 5 grade 8s and 3 grade 7s; David Jones who achieved 10 strong GCSE passes including 1 grade 9, 4 grade 8s and 2 grade 7s. All very impressive.

14% of all grades this year were graded at 9 - 7 the equivalent of the old A* - A and 64.7% of all grades were 9 – 4 the equivalent of the old A* - C grade
We are very proud of the hard work that all our students put in to achieving such great outcomes and look forward to welcoming many back into the Sixth Form to continue their studies.
