Six primary schools, one day, one amazing festival
THA hosted a very successful inclusive sports day on 28th June and six local primary and secondary schools attended the School Games backed event including Minet Junior School, Pield Heath School, Belmore Primary Academy, Rabbsfarm Primary School and Whitehall Junior School.
School Games Organiser, Patricia Almeida, led the sessions, with teachers and students also helping out during the day. A special thank you to Coteford Junior School and their teachers for helping THA run the event with such an amazing group of Sports Leaders.
THA plans to launch other inclusive sports events and have a number of youngsters involved.
“This was the second inclusive competition that we have organised this year. We plan in the future to run more festivals, invite all schools in the borough and ensure there are more opportunities for SEND students in Hillingdon.” Patricia Almeida, School Games Organiser
“It was a good exercise in how we can build links and be completely inclusive here at The Academy. It was really amazing to see all children having fun and getting involved in all different sports activities. It was great to see the ability and enthusiasm of the youngsters and how well they engaged with each other; we want to engage some of those young people, and their parents, and make them feel part of a club.”
More than 50 students of all ages and abilities took part in this inspirational event.
