Enrichment and Personal/Academic development

"Children and young people who board (in Lord Adonis House) show stunning academic and social progress compared to other students in the school."

Academic Development

When boarders return to Lord Adonis House from school, we know if they have performed well and like every parent, we accept nothing less than maximum effort at school. House Parents go the extra mile holding one to one meetings with members of their floor at the end of every reporting cycle. During this meeting, effort and attainment are discussed and high aiming targets are set. Parents then receive an email that summarises the meeting.

Supervised Study and Quiet Time takes place for one hour every day. Our junior boarders (Years 7 - 11) benefit from supervised study either in our ICT room or in a computer room at The Academy. Senior boarders (Years 12 and 13) undertake Quiet Time and are expected to be in a place of work between 5pm and 6pm.

Extra care is taken to nurture a love for independent study and our bedrooms are excellently equipped for quiet, effective learning. Bespoke programmes are created for individual boarders, where necessary.

Our passion to provide an exciting, holistic education for our boarders has led to the development of an outstanding range of enrichment activities and trips. This ensures that when our boarders graduate from Lord Adonis House they are equipped for the outside world and more than prepared for the independence that university demands.
